Overview
Butyl Lap Sealant is a butyl-rubber sealant for sheet laps and seams that need to stay flexible and sticky rather than cure to a hard rubber. This cartridge is Grey. Typical uses are metal roof laps, trailer and HVAC seams, and details where a silicone would skin and then peel. Butyl remains tacky. It is not a facade movement-joint sealant and not a wet-area sanitary seal. Apply to clean, dry metal. Compress the lap. Do not expect a paintable, tooled architectural finish from this chemistry.
